About Thea Arnold

I was born in Wales and studied there, graduating in Painting and Printmaking. I have taught in Britain and Germany, most recently, at the International School of Brussels.

I run creativity workshops in Brussels and have organised and run summer painting courses in Greece, Tuscany and France.

I am attracted to the mountainous landscape in Umbria where I have worked for the past summers. The line, rhythm and harmony of the landscape inspire me as well as the pattern created by man, hedgerows, vineyards, groups of trees…it is a starting point to weave my own story which embraces past and present.

I love drawing the human figure, formal portraits, drawing from the model, quick line drawings in bars and cafes…

I have exhibited extensively and have work in many private collections.
